What’s the best way to start screen sharing?

Choose Share screen from the card in Settings once you’ve picked a screen-friendly capture mode. Capme will prompt you with a Choose screen button and, in Chrome or Edge, opens floating picture-in-picture controls so you can stop or restart sharing without leaving your slides.

Can I use the teleprompter in every recording?

The teleprompter is available in Webcam only mode so your camera stays front and centre. Draft your script in the overlay, and when you hit record it autoscrolls while the countdown or recording runs. Your text is saved locally, so it’s waiting the next time you open the studio.

How do I customise my background?

Click Customize and pick Backgrounds to choose one of Capme’s presets, upload your own image, or open the colour picker for a solid backdrop. Capme loads uploads instantly, remembers your choice, and keeps the video blocked until the background is ready so you never record against an empty canvas.

How do I add my branding?

In the Branding tab you can upload a transparent logo, tint it for dark or light layouts, and set the name or URL that appears along the bottom band. JPEG logos are supported too - Capme simply skips tinting when the file isn’t transparent.

How do I pick a different camera or microphone?

Use the Input Devices tab. You get live previews, a mirrored camera feed, and a real-time mic meter so you can confirm levels before recording. Switching devices triggers a quick preview refresh while keeping any active screen share alive.

What video quality does Capme record?

You can capture at 480p, 720p, or 1080p. Screen and Screen + webcam modes stay at 16:9, while webcam mode lets you choose landscape, square, or portrait canvases. Higher quality raises file size, but every mode still records locally in WebM for instant download.

What happens if my screen share stops?

Capme immediately warns you, closes the floating controls, and if you were still recording it stops safely so you don’t end up with a blank capture. You can restart the share from the same banner or return to Webcam only if you no longer need the screen.

The finish screen lets you rename the file, preview playback, download instantly, or use the Share button for your device’s native sharing sheet. There’s also a Capme share card with shortcuts for social posts and an option to jump back into the studio to record again.
